Food Grown At the Collingwood Childrens Farm.

About the same time as when the covent was in use, the farm was a tiny bit diffrent!
The farm allowed their cows to graze upon the grassy banks of the yarra river. This proved to be a natural and free sourse used to feed the cows at the time. But as time went on, on the farm decided on farming fruit and vegtables instead of farming animals. That however didn't mean the farming of animals stopped completly.

In this picture everyone is boiling and warned out from working so hard cleaning, the garden bed. As you can see everyone is relaxing and sketching animals. That's part of our task we have to do when we go to the farm, as well as community service. This was the second week we went to the farm and it was pretty cool and hot.

The year 9's are doing a program called ARC, it stands for Art Recreation and Community. Each week our two groups swap between going to the Collingwood Children’s Farm and going bike riding.

My favourite thing at the farm was Planting and weeding and feeding the calf also holding the guinea pigs.

The program so far has been exciting and successful. I have enjoyed going on the scenic bike ride and witnessing the work that nature has done. The trees, plants and grass. Every two weeks we ride to different places and we do like the rides but sometimes it’s tiring. We also do service for the Collingwood Children’s Farm. Now I am starting to like working there and it gives you extra experience for life. You get to feed animals and pull out weeds and plants etc etc... Boring I know, but you have to do it. I will keep you updated so watch this space.

We have been going on for a program called ARC. We tried to help the ARC program by doing community service at the farm. At the farm we have been planting and weeding. I enjoy working at the farm but there is one thing that i dislike is getting my clothes dirty.

This was the second time we went to the farm. Andrew (our teacher) said that we should pull some weeds out of the garden so that we could "clear" the space, ready for planting. Naturally we all pulled out the things that looked dead. Turns out these can "re-plant" themselves, we got in trouble for it, and Andrew did not. He decided to tell Toni (our helper at the farm) that he tried to stop us, he didn't.

These are photos of a calf at the farm, he's my favourite. He likes attention heaps. Pretty sure thats Naomi patting him.

At the farm we work on garden beds, feed the animals sometimes, and take photos of/draw the animals aswell. I don't mind ARC so much, the farm is abit boring and that, but I like art. It'd be better if we did more art.
